In a factory, the job of the line determines the hose: hydraulic circuits of stationary machinery, hot zones, in-plant air and water, and general-purpose lines carrying detergents or chemicals. Gates lists a separate product for each of these lines.
All of the hoses below are in our range. We have briefly noted the application Gates gives for each; call for sizes and prices.
Our Gates hoses for industrial plants
- Gates® MXT™ Wire Braided Hose - SAE 100R16: the Gates press release mentions injection molding machines and other stationary machinery; a versatile, flexible braided hose.
- Gates® MXT-XTP XtraTuff Steel Wire Braided Hydraulic Hose (2SC): the XtraTuff-covered version of MXT; improved ozone and abrasion resistance.
- Gates® MXG™ 5K-XTP with XtraTuff™ Plus Cover: listed among manufacturing applications in the Gates brochure; a 350 bar class Xpiral hose.
- Gates® MXG4K-XTP XtraTuff Xpiral Hydraulic Hose (280 bar): Gates lists stationary applications; a 280 bar class Xpiral hose.
- Gates® G2XH Steel Wire Braided Hydraulic Hose (2SN): Gates: for high-temperature, high-pressure hydraulic applications such as engine compartments and foundries; -40 °C to +150 °C.
- Gates® Pilot Wire and Textile Braided Hydraulic Hose: Gates: for hydraulic pilot control lines in tight spaces on industrial equipment.
- Gates® GP80 Plus: Gates: general industrial applications such as oil, alcohol, aqueous solutions, hydraulic fluids, acids, detergents and chemicals; static conductive.
- Gates® Plant Master™ Hose: Gates: in-plant air and water lines that require flexibility; not for use in oily environments.
How to choose
When choosing a hose for a plant:
- Fluid: MXT, MXG and G2XH for hydraulic oil; GP80 Plus for general duties such as oil, alcohol, acids and detergents; Plant Master for air and water only.
- Temperature: G2XH -40 °C to +150 °C; MXG family -40 °C to +121 °C; MXT family -40 °C to +100 °C; Plant Master -40 °C to +93 °C in continuous service.
- Pressure: The working pressure of each size is given in the size chart on the product page.
- Static electricity: GP80 Plus is static conductive.
- Special fluids: G2XH is also compatible with phosphate esters.
Frequently asked questions
Which hydraulic hose for hot environments such as foundries?
Gates recommends G2XH for high-temperature, high-pressure hydraulic applications such as engine compartments and foundries; its temperature range is -40 °C to +150 °C and it is also compatible with phosphate esters.
Which hose for a line carrying detergent or acid?
Gates recommends GP80 Plus for general industrial applications such as oil, alcohol, aqueous solutions, hydraulic fluids, acids, detergents and chemicals. Tell us the fluid you will be conveying and we will check its suitability together.
Which hydraulic hose for an injection molding machine?
In its MXT-XTP press release, Gates lists injection molding machines and other stationary machinery among the applications of the MXT family.
